With the conclusion of Border-Gavasker Trophy, the finalists for world test championship have been finalized.
South Africa qualified for the first spot of the world test championship by defeating Pakistan in the first test and later won the second test and won the series by 2-0. They lead the world test championship as the number 1 team in this cycle.
The second qualifier was to decide the fate of India. Australia and Sri Lanka were hanging on the last test of BGT.
If India would have won their chances would get brighter, if Australia won they would have qualified and if the match got drawn then there would be chance for Sri Lanka as well.
Pat Cummins led Australian side won the last test match with 6 wickets while Rohit Sharma due to his bad form was dropped from the series decider.
