On the first day of the fourth test of border-gavaskar trophy, fans paid tribute to the legendary spinner Shane Warne at his home ground at MCG. Everything stopped at 3:50 because of the legendary player Cap No.350.
This tribute was led by the Australian legend’s children Brooke and Jackson Warne.The tribute led to a crowd doffing their cap in a tribute to Shane Warne’s famous celebration during the Ashes.
Shane Warne was an absolute legend to the game as he appeared in 145 tests and had 708 wickets to his name in test cricket. He has steered Australia to many victories single handedly.
One of his most iconic contributions was when he led Australia to victory in the final of the ODI world cup 1999 against a very strong Pakistani Side.
Australian spinner passed away on 4th march 2022 when he was on a trip to Thailand. He died of a suspected heart attack saddening the world.
Ever Since, he has been receiving tributes from cricketing world and wider communities in Australia. Shane Warne also has a stand in MCG and a statue as a tribute to his contributions towards Australian Cricket.
