Karachi: Jason Gillespie, Pakistan’s red ball head coach, will arrive in Pakistan on July 7 to lead the Pakistan Shaheens camp in Karachi. A former Australian bowler will also train the Shaheens on their visit to Australia. The Shaheens will play two four-day games versus Bangladesh A Down Under.
Remember that a pre-season fitness camp begins on June 24 and ends on July 7. The group will be reduced to a 15-member Pakistan Shaheens squad, who will attend a training camp from July 8 to 13 in preparation for their journey to Darwin.
He will return to Pakistan after the second four-day match against Bangladesh ‘A’ on July 29 to take over as head coach and prepare for the two-Test series against Bangladesh. Mohammad Masroor, the pre-season fitness and fielding camp’s supervisor, will also travel to Darwin as Assistant Coach/Manager. Abdul Rehman will be the white-ball head coach, joining the Pakistan Shaheens on July 28 for the two 50-over and Top End T20 Series matches from August 4 to 18.
“National team players presently involved in competitive cricket in the United Kingdom and those who recently participated in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 have been exempted from the pre-season fitness and fielding camp.” The national selection committee has invited the following players and the Pakistan Shaheen team to the pre-season fitness and fielding camp.
Pakistan’s Shaheens include Haseebullah, Hunain Shah, Kamran Ghulam, Kashif Ali, Khurram Shahzad, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Huraira, Mubasir Khan, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Omair Bin Yousuf, Sahibzada Farhan, Shahnawaz Dahani, Tayyab Tahir, and Umar Amin. The captain and one more player will be confirmed in due course.

“The two four layers are part of a bilateral series that Northern Territory Cricket (NTC) is staging on behalf of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. “The PCB is scheduled to host Bangladesh A at home in August,” the press statement stated.
