Kuldeep Yadav is an India’s spinner who played a key role in the ODI World Cup 2023. He performed against Pakistan and New Zealand and led India to the two victories that were really Important for them to reach into the final. However, the star player has been out of action since New Zealand’s first test due to groyne Injury. He went under surgery in Germany and despite that being successful, his complete recovery will take a lot of time.
India will face England in a month and the champions trophy will begin in two months. Kuldeep Yadav, who has been the backbone of Indian Spin attack, will not be a part of Indian Cricket Squad. He has 172 wickets in ODI, 56 in tests and 69 in T20. Yet the injury seems to have put his future with the Indian team in the dark.
India’s matches for the Champions Trophy are scheduled in Dubai. And the pitches in those grounds offer great support to the spinners. With India’s star spinner out due to Injury, India might face a setback. Everyone is hoping that Kuldeep will return for the champions trophy although his return is depending on his recovery.
He has to start playing cricket and have to pass a trial to get a green signal with just a month left in the series with England and two months in the tournament. It seems to be very unlikely that he will be playing England’s series but there are chances that he might play in the Champions Trophy.
England has announced the squad for their upcoming series. They will have to announce soon if Kuldeep Yadav is not able to participate. In that case, India will have to look for other options including Azar Patel and Washington Sunder.
